About the Blonde Squirrel

Scientific Name: Sciurus carolinensis

 Due to their rare occurrence taxidermy mounts of Blonde Squirrels are not easy to come by. The blonde squirrel is a "leucistic" subgroup of the eastern gray squirrel and the fox squirrel. It is not a separate species of squirrel.  The light fur color is a mutation in populations of gray squirrels, but it is rare.
