This Roan Antelope shoulder mount has been posed so that the animal looking forward with its head cocked slightly to the left. He has big curved horns and a pair of perked up ears. This animal has very interesting coloring. His head is a proverbial cornucopia of tans, browns, and whites. And, while the fur on his body is mostly a light brown, at the very bottom of the mount is a patch of rich, dark brown fur. All this considered, we have given this Roan Antelope our taxidermy quality rating of Excellent.

Scientific Name: Hippotragus equinus
The roan antelope is a savanna antelope found in West and Central Africa. It is the namesake of the Chevaline project, whose name was taken from the French Antilope Chevaline. Roan antelope are one of the largest species of antelopes, only Elands, Bongos and large male Kudus can exceed them in weight.
